CBD, or cannabidiol, is a compound derived from the hemp plant. Don’t get it twisted: CBD won’t get you high. Unlike tetrahydrocannabinol (otherwise known as THC - the compound that’s responsible for the mind-altering effects), CBD has no psychoactive properties.

HOW IT WORKS

CBD works with the body’s endocannabinoid system by interacting with the cannabinoid receptors located throughout the body and brain. This network of receptors assist with regulating a range of different functions, including sleep, metabolic and cardiovascular health, immunity, mood, and the regulation of our hormones, particularly in response to stress.

MORE ABOUT CBD

CBD is short for cannabidiol. It’s one of over eighty cannabinoids that are found in the cannabis plant. CBD is extracted from hemp and contains less than 0.3% of THC.

When it came to sourcing CBD for our products, we set the bar extremely high. We’re selective about what we put into our bodies and on our skin - and we know that you are too - so it had to be high-quality, pure and grown in conditions that met our scrupulous standards. The CBD that we use is pure crystalline CBD isolate that’s derived from hemp grown right here in the USA.

‘Isolate’ means that the CBD contains only CBD, and no other cannabinoids or naturally occurring compounds from the cannabis plant - including THC. Our CBD is 99% pure and has undergone third party accredited testing in a certified laboratory to ensure that all you’re getting is pure and natural CBD.

CBD has been used for thousands of years but has only recently been getting the attention it deserves. Prior to 2018, the legal classification of hemp and its derivatives under the Controlled Substances Act made it challenging for researchers to fully investigate how CBD works with the human body. Since then, a tremendous amount of research is being conducted, with promising evidence surfacing. Both anecdotal and preliminary scientific research point to CBD having anti-inflammatory properties and the potential to help relieve chronic pain. It’s an excellent addition to your recovery repertoire.

Yes. In 2018, the Farm Bill was passed which reclassified hemp from a Schedule 1 substance to an agricultural commodity. Our CBD is derived from hemp, contains zero THC and is completely legal.

Absolutely! According to a recent review by the World Health Organization, ‘to date, there is no evidence of recreational use of CBD or any public health-related problems associated with the use of pure CBD’. In fact, numerous studies show that CBD is beneficial to humans with no significant adverse effects.
